Quickstart

1. Prepare the Source from a Root Shell

Because sudo -i changes to a login shell and may change the working directory, switch to root first.

2. Choose an Installer

Review Choose an Installer first to confirm the deployment target and network constraints.

3. Keep DRY_RUN Enabled

DRY_RUN is enabled by default. In the Configuration menu, first review the version, credentials, NICs, storage, and deployment inputs.

4. Run Full Configuration Validation

Review OK / WARN / FAIL results and resolve every FAIL. Review each WARN and decide whether it is acceptable for the target deployment.

5. Disable DRY_RUN Before Real Execution

After validation passes, re-check NICs, IP addresses, disks, versions, and credentials, then set DRY_RUN=0 in the Configuration menu.
With DRY_RUN=0, the installer can make real changes to networking, storage, kernel settings, and VM definitions. If you are working remotely, ensure console or out-of-band access is available.

6. Choose the Execution Mode

  • Auto Execute All Steps — continue automatically from the first incomplete step
  • Execute Specific Step — run or retry only the selected step
For a first deployment, Auto Execute All Steps is normally appropriate. After correcting the cause of a failed step, use Execute Specific Step when only that step needs to be rerun.

7. Resume After Reboot

When a networking or kernel step triggers a reboot, relaunch the same installer and select Auto Execute. The installer resumes from the next incomplete step using the saved state.
See State and Logs for installer state and log locations. Do not manually move the state file backward or forward just because a deployment was interrupted.

8. Watch the Installation Demos

For a visual walkthrough of the deployment flow, see Installation Demo Videos.
