Reboot & Resume

The installers are stateful so host-level changes that require reboot do not force the entire deployment to restart.

Current reboot points

The current scripts configure automatic reboot after:
  • Step 3 — NIC rename / ifupdown conversion and network configuration
  • Step 5 — kernel tuning
The exact step names differ slightly by installer, but these IDs are consistent across the active families.

After reboot

Run the same installer again from the same source and state context, then choose Auto Execute All Steps. The installer starts from the first incomplete step.

State semantics

Completed state is persisted only after a step reaches its successful completion path. A failed or canceled step should not advance the completed-step marker.
Do not manually edit the state file merely to bypass a failed step. Correct the underlying condition and re-run the affected step.
